Sunday, February 28th, was Connor Zook's third birthday -- and this gallery of thirty-two photographs shows everyone having a good time.

Of course there was cake and cute kids, but the bubbles were a great bonus.

Snow! (2010)

Twice in two years — wow.

Middle Georgia got between two and four inches of snow, depending on where you were; here at the house, I got three plus.

Didn't last long, of course. The Southern sun is strong, even in February. Hence, on my practice at Rose Hill the next day, much of it was already gone. (Still beautiful, though!)

It started out with a hole in the bathroom floor and a sagging back porch.

It turned into a much bigger deal.

A special Saturday edition of Cocktail Hour, to celebrate the holiday season, was held this past weekend at Thad and Rebecca's awesome home in downtown Macon.

Most of the photographs are of the decoration — something Rebecca always goes all-out with. However, there are a couple of portraits I like rounding out the set.

Thanksgiving, 2009

Celebrating a multi-year tradition of Thanksgiving with the Zook family — many, many thanks for the (continued) great company.

My main mission, in terms of photography, was to get some great shots of Connor, whom the camera hadn't seen in a couple of months — a big deal when you're his age. Thankfully, he — and his family — hit more than one out of the park that holiday.

Sweet.

Also got a few of Dan's amazing turkey routine, and Kim's kids, Meghan and Lydia, when they showed up later.

Great, great holiday. Thanks to Dan and Monica — and everyone!

Edisto Beach

About an hour south of Charleston, South Carolina, or five hours, give or take, from Macon, this boastal barrier island has both history and great beaches.

It's nothing more than a resort community now, really, but absolutely a fun place to take a few days away from the world. (Literally, in this case, as there was little cell and no internet access.)

Even on "vacation," however, I'm around with a camera. Here's both a beautiful, historic, and very expressive window — and what happens when I get up for a sunrise, and then step back for a moment...;)
